Research-only validation, with clear boundaries.

This page explains the public legal and compliance perimeter for Validraft.

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Scope

What Validraft provides

Validraft provides independent research, quantitative analysis, historical simulation, and validation reporting for client-supplied trading hypotheses. The service is designed to test stated assumptions and document evidence, limitations, and methodology.

  • Quantitative research, historical data analysis, backtesting simulation, validation checks, and report preparation.
  • Feasibility review, strategy-family mapping, data-quality review, and descriptive assessment of stated assumptions.
  • Post-validation monitoring only where separately agreed, and only as descriptive tracking against a delivered report baseline.

Regulatory boundary

No investment advice or personal recommendation

Validraft outputs are descriptive, not prescriptive. We do not provide personal recommendations about buying, selling, holding, shorting, allocating to, sizing, or implementing any financial instrument, strategy, portfolio, or transaction.

Reports may describe historical performance, statistical evidence, validation outcomes, failure modes, assumptions, and limitations. They are not presented as suitable for any person and are not based on a suitability assessment of a client's personal financial situation, objectives, risk tolerance, tax position, or regulatory status.

Nothing on this website, in a sample report, in a delivered report, in a workspace, or in communication with the desk should be interpreted as investment advice, a recommendation, a solicitation, an offer, or a signal to trade.

Out of scope

What Validraft does not provide

The following activities are outside the Validraft service perimeter unless a future regulated product is separately launched and documented.

  • Live order execution or order routing — research and simulation only.
  • Managed paper-trading or live-vs-backtest parity monitoring on your behalf.
  • Capital allocation, ramp-up, or any management of real money.
  • Investment advice — every report is descriptive, never prescriptive.
  • Brokerage, custody, payment for order flow, execution services, or order-routing infrastructure.
  • Tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, or fund-structuring advice.
  • Guarantees of profitability, accuracy, market availability, data freshness, or future performance.

Backtest risk

Reports and simulations have limits

  • Backtests are historical simulations. They may be affected by data quality, survivorship bias, look-ahead bias, market-impact assumptions, fees, slippage, liquidity constraints, and regime changes.
  • A validation report can identify evidence, weaknesses, and limitations. It cannot prove that a strategy will work in the future.
  • A GO, NO-GO, or conditional label is a descriptive validation outcome inside the agreed research scope. It is not an instruction to trade or not trade.
  • Sample reports, examples, screenshots, charts, and metrics on this website are illustrative unless expressly identified as a delivered client report.

Client role

Your responsibilities when submitting a brief

  • Provide complete and accurate information in the brief, including instruments, data assumptions, parameters, costs, constraints, and intended research scope.
  • Do not submit material that you are not authorized to share with Validraft.
  • Review any report, limitation, assumption, and exclusion before relying on it for internal research or governance.
  • Obtain independent professional advice where investment, legal, tax, regulatory, accounting, or operational decisions are involved.

Confidential by default

Submitted material and confidentiality

  • Client briefs and submitted strategy details are treated as confidential by default, subject to any written agreement, legal obligations, provider access required to operate the service, and operational security limitations.
  • Validraft does not add client hypotheses to a public template library and does not publish client-specific strategy details without permission.
  • For standard briefs, a separate NDA is not usually required, but one is available on request.
  • For sensitive Tier B, Tier C, institutional, custom-data, or investor-facing work, an NDA or separate written agreement may be recommended or required before detailed materials are exchanged.

Data protection

Privacy notice placeholder

  • The dedicated privacy notice describes expected categories of personal data, purposes, legal bases, sharing, retention, security, cookies, and GDPR rights.
  • Controller identity, processors, retention periods, cookie tooling, and data-transfer details should be reviewed and finalized with counsel before production launch.
  • Client strategy materials may be confidential business information even when they are not personal data.

The dedicated privacy notice is available on the privacy page. Privacy requests can be sent to legal@validraft.net.

Ownership

Intellectual property and third-party data

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Validraft and its licensors retain all rights in the website, brand assets, code, templates, report structure, validation methods, documentation, and internal tooling. Clients retain their rights in the strategy descriptions, briefs, and materials they submit.

Reports may reference third-party market data, vendors, company names, instruments, or trademarks for identification and analysis. Such names and marks remain the property of their respective owners. Data access, redistribution, display, and retention may be subject to vendor terms.

Commercial terms

Pricing, quotes, and engagement documents

Website prices are indicative unless stated otherwise. Final scope, deliverables, turnaround, add-ons, exclusions, data assumptions, taxes, payment terms, and any refund or cancellation terms should be confirmed in a written quote, order form, invoice, or engagement agreement before work begins.

The current public pricing overview is available on the pricing page.

Website use

Availability, warranties, and liability

The website, sample materials, and pre-launch workspace are provided on an as-available basis. Validraft does not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from inaccuracies.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and subject to any written agreement, Validraft is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, indirect damages, or decisions made using historical simulations or descriptive reports.
