Provider inventory

FMP News

Financial Modeling Prep is the data provider for the raw news article streams. FinBERT is not a provider; it is a local NLP model we run after ingestion to classify financial text sentiment.

Processing layer

Local NLP processing: FinBERT

FinBERT runs inside the Validraft processing pipeline after FMP news articles have been ingested. It classifies each financial text item into sentiment features; it is not a third-party data feed or provider relationship.

Validation use

  • Post-earnings drift and announcement-reaction studies.
  • Headline sentiment overlays for US equities.
  • Macro, FX, and crypto news sentiment filters.

Notes and caveats

  • Fresh FMP News ingestion is paused; use current features as a historical snapshot unless reactivated for a scope.

Need this provider in a brief?

We confirm whether the existing lake is enough, whether a refresh is needed, and whether the scope depends on provider licensing before any validation run starts.
